Student Control - Internet OK

      
     

This section of student control monitors the computer for use of Internet Browsers.

 

Welcome / Conditions of Use Quick Notice Internet OK

This allow teachers to dictate if a computer or user is allowed to use the internet. An Administrator may turn off the Entire Domain if required (e.g. maintenance work on proxy without load).  This function is exceptionally useful for stopping internet use during exams / tests / or even a class where just standard desktop applications are in use.  Normally no interface is shown, however, if a student attempts to use the internet while the restriction is on, the following screen will be shown and the computer is locked up for a short period. The Browser is automatically removed from the memory.

The major features on this screen are:

    Selectable Lockouts
    Teachers may lockout all or individual computers in the current room only. This prevents the teacher from accidentally affecting other rooms.
     
    Administrators Exceptions
    The application automatically checks the user's security level and prevents any user, over a certain security level, from turning the internet off. This is useful for allowing the teacher access whilst restricting all student computers in the same room.
